Captains Message

We are proud to serve as Captains of Millicent Golf Club for its Silver Anniversary.  

It is a privilege to represent such a passionate membership and to be afforded the opportunity to welcome members, families, and visitors to the 2026 season, a truly special year as we celebrate our club’s 25th anniversary.

Over the past quarter of a century, our club has grown not only in numbers but in spirit. From our earliest days to the vibrant club we enjoy today, the foundations have been built on friendship, respect, sportsmanship, and a shared love of the game.

Our greatest strength, outside of the golf course, is the people, members and staff coupled with the large number of hard working committees. Our parklands course, with its beautiful grounds and welcoming clubhouse, continues to be at the heart of our club. It is a place where members come together – to compete, to learn, and most importantly, to enjoy one another’s company. Whether playing casual golf or in competition, or sharing a conversation in the clubhouse, the sense of community remains our greatest strength.

We look forward to a competitive golfing year in 2026, interspersed with several fun golf competitions and social events. We wish all members, both in our internal competitions and those representing Millicent in Inter Club competitions, a very successful and enjoyable year.

This milestone year also invites us to pause and remember those members who are no longer with us. We honour their contributions, their friendship, and the legacy they leave behind. Their presence helped shape our club, and they remain an enduring part of our story. We remember them with gratitude and respect.

As your Captains, we endeavour to carry on the great work carried out by the previous Captains and their committees, to ensure that Millicent continues to grow its reputation and maintain its vibrant and welcoming environment.

We encourage all members – Men, Ladies, and Juniors alike – to take part in the celebrations, support one another, and continue to foster the welcoming and inclusive atmosphere that defines our club.

May this Silver Anniversary year be filled with memorable golf, strong camaraderie, and moments to cherish both on and off the course. An occasion we are very excited about and a major event for our calendar is Millicent Golf Club’s 25th Anniversary Dinner Dance on October 17^th.
